St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee is internationally recognized for its pioneering work in finding cures and saving children with pediatric cancer and other catastrophic diseases. Greensboro, NC has been actively involved in radiothons for St. Jude Children’s Hospital since 1989. On December 12-13, 2011, the event raised $155,000 for St. Jude. Terra volunteers every year and it is always a great experience. This year, the most memorable call was received at 5:30 am on December 12th. The caller wanted to donate $2000. The moment the first call was completed, I received a second call from an individual who had heard the first donation. They matched the first caller’s donation and added an additional $1000 to send out a challenge to their fellow employees. What a great day! It was very fulfilling.
